GSAPP F'10. PROPINQUITY, SKIN, INFIDELITY

Propinquity connotes proximity and affiliation. It implicates spatial relationships, intensity, duration, and the socio-emotional effects of these relationships. The studio explored what proximity propagates, mining the simultaneity and overlap between what is public and what is private, between maximizing density and honoring void, between collective experience and personal will. Housing proposals straddle a 76 acre rail yard, underutilized urban infrastructure in Hoboken, New Jersey.
